Based on our family farm in Bedfordshire, sourced throughout Britain.

Hand-dyed colours inspired by Literature, captured on British heritage wools that support you in creating heirlooms.

If you see one of my knits on Instagram or in-person at a yarn show and are interested in knitting your own version, then do take a look at the kits I’m offering. There’s plenty of scope to build alternate colourway options for the same prices listed, so by all means reach out if this appeals to you.

In 2019…

An idea emerged in Beth Sparks to create a sustainable loop between farm and craft, using business experience learnt in London to focus on a passion for home and the land.

Since then Telling Yarns has become the embodiment of this desire to create a modern business that respects heritage methods and mindsets, while hoping to regenerate the land that she and her family are hefted to. With hopes of bringing sheep back to the land in due course to heal years of intensive farming by returning heritage practices to the landscape, all while creating the highest quality British yarns for you.

In 2022…

Taking the first bold steps towards this goal, Telling Yarns has been privileged to offer its first all British custom spun yarn that, excitingly, has fast replaced all the yarn bases that came before it. Telling Yarns is now only offering 100% non-superwash British grown and milled yarns.
